Paul, the owner of Top-Notch, has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. His quality sound equipment, vast knowledge and industry experience sets him apart from all other DJ's around town.

Having entertained at many clubs and wedding reception venues around Australia, he has gathered a wealth of knowledge as to which songs work at functions—and which songs don't.

Having taught guitar to primary school age children since 2004, he's developed communication skills that aid his approach to encouraging all children to have fun at his discos.

Paul was also a qualified local 'Auskick' and Junior Football coach for five years. Again, this helped him further develop his communication skills in encouraging children (boys & girls of all primary grade levels) to have fun 'just trying' regardless of their ability/skill level.

Of course, he has a full Working With Children Check card and brings this to every function he DJ's.

He is also a trained audio engineer, which enables him to setup up the sound equipment to suit any room. Not only does he have the best equipment, he knows how to to get the best result from it, always carefully ensuring the music is never too loud.

Paul is also a performing musician with an extensive 'live' music background playing in cover bands around Australia.

The Role Of The DJ

The role of any School DJ should be to compliment the evening's events and to assist the staff and students in celebrating a night to remember.

It is the DJ's role to set the mood for the students via the use of music and lighting effects. This atmosphere should be subtle, not over-powering, not too loud yet still have a party atmosphere.

Music Selection

The music selection your school DJ plays should always be censored—not just for swearing, but also innuendos. It's quite amazing the amount of songs which must not be played to school aged children.
